Aquaman Cosplay (Great Job!) |
The location for the New York Comic Con is the massive Jacob Javitts Center in New York City. It is enormous and can hold plenty of fans. I am reluctant to guess how many people were in attendance, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was around 30-40,000 fans. As I mentioned in a previous post, get there early, like right when it opens, for the chance to see the most things and walk around almost comfortably for an hour or too before it gets too crazy packed with people.

Banner on the way to Artist Alley |
One of the highlights is the Artist Alley. This year there were plenty of names familiar to comics and illustration. Among the artists was Buddy Scalera who publishes a series of artist reference books for the comic art minded. I have most of his books and highly recommend them for those interested in drawing comics - plenty of poses and they come with a CD. I met Buddy and a couple of his models who were kind enough to take their picture with me.

Haydee Urena and Zoe Labella |
I was a little rushed in Artist Alley as there were things happening on the main floor of the convention that I had to get to in time, but I saw my buddies Keith Murphey and Hector Rodriguez manning their table and snapped this shot. A drive-by shooting...I couldn't stop to palaver...
