In Memoriam: Richard LeParmentier

An actor who I have always admired for his minor roles has passed away at age 66.  Richard LeParmentier, who played Admiral Motti in Star Wars.

Admiral Motti: Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the rebels' hidden fortress...

He was also in another of my favorite movies, Rollerball.  He played Bartholomew's lackey; in the story Roller Ball Murder, by William Harrison, I believe the character's name is Mr. Crocodile...

Richard LeParmentier - you will be remembered in SF Fandom forever!
