I just learned from Irene Gallo's blog, The Art Department, the great pulp illustrator Edd Cartier passed away on Christmas Day. One of the greats and definitely a far-out science fiction illustrator, he may be best known for his work on "The Shadow." Please google Edd Cartier for some great nostalgic illustration from golden age of black and white science fiction illustration.
