This illustration I did for the book L. Ron Hubbard presents The Writers of the Future and it appears as the lead-in for the Gold Award winning story "Saturn if G Minor" by the fantastic science fiction writer Stephen Kotowych. I was very lucky to get this story to illustrate as it contains many of the elements which I love to draw...Space, Planets and a touch of the surreal with the hands orchestrating the events in the scene. The story involves a recluse composer who lives isolated on a space station off Saturn. He is near the end of life and a reporter journeys to the station to get one last interview with the legendary musician before he performs his final composition. If you get the chance please read this story. It is award winning and Stephen Kotowych is a name you'll likely hear much more of in the future.
